Job Title: QA/QC Inspector
Job Purpose
Keep the quality management systems in good shape. Make sure that all spare parts going to the FPSO or for operations are in good working order and come with the right quality paperwork, as per the Procurement QAQC Matrix.
Make sure spare parts and equipment in storage are kept in good condition and that the right records are kept and kept up to date. Also, Make sure to work closely with contractors when making piping and structural parts to make sure that quality requirements are met and that quality problems don’t slow down the delivery of items.
Make sure that all non-conformance reports are dealt with and that approved corrective actions are carried out.
Inspect, verify, watch, and review contractors’ work on onshore equipment, such as valve testing, equipment refurbishment, etc.
Do inspections at local manufacturers and make sure that third-party inspectors, such as ABS and DNV, are involved when needed.
Inspect/verify/witness/review welding, dimensional inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT), and keep a close eye on the quality activities at the onshore fabricator’s facility. Also, when needed, inspections would have to be done offshore during the installation phase of prefabricated structures. Make sure that all projects done by local manufacturers follow the right and approved steps.
Core Responsibilities
- Review quality documentation for new fabrications and repairs to make sure they meet legal requirements, codes, standards, and operations specifications.
- Check that the quality requirements in the project documentation are correct.
- Meet with manufacturers about projects and fabrications
- Make sure contractors follow their quality plans for all onshore projects by keeping an eye on them.
- Check the material’s history for repair work and new production
- When building or fixing something, make sure to follow all of the QA and QC requirements listed in the approved ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
- Work with third-party inspectors to do inspections where they are needed.
- Review and sign off on inspection and test records for new work and repairs
- Do a final inspection of all new fabrications and repairs before letting them go.
- Review the Manufacturer’s Record Books (MRB)
- Make sure that job scopes are finished on time and coordinate shipping overseas.
- Follow up on things that don’t meet standards and make sure corrective actions are taken.
- Before materials are sent to the facility or stored, they are inspected to make sure they meet the required specifications and paperwork and that they are in line with the Procurement QAQC matrix.
- Coordinating inspection release and material receiving reports for everything going offshore.
- Making sure that the items in storage are kept in good shape and that the records are up to date.
- Monitoring goods and equipment that are being kept and keeping records up to date.
- QAQC documentation records for materials received are being kept up to date.
- Coordinating with suppliers to solve problems with deliveries that don’t meet standards.
- Help MLCs and warehouse assistants when they need it.
- Help put together the QAQC report every month.
Qualifications and past work
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical Engineering).
Certification(s): Certificate holder for CSWIP 3.1
Relevant Experience:
- I have more than five years of experience inspecting the quality of piping and electrical work.
- Be able to show that you know how to work with the international standards that apply to the oil and gas industry.
- Know how to use the maintenance management and purchasing modules of the CMMS (Maximo/AMOS) software system.
- Knowledge of how to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word on a computer.
