Manager of Technical team at Star Fleet
Summary of Role
As a supervisor, you’ll need to keep track of and take care of the taxi company’s cars. You’ll also need to have good technical skills when it comes to keeping the cars in order and keeping track of them.
Key Tasks
- Making sure the fleet is in good technical shape. routine repair is checked and done; the fleet is checked every day. Cars are looked at and problems are found. Making sure the needed work is done on time;
- Review the document control systems and processes to find ways to make them better;
- Keep records of all types of work and all work that needs to be done on the fleet;
- Check the vehicles every day;
- Keeps an eye on and looks over the vehicle and equipment logs of drivers and operators;
- Checks the car fixes. making the changes that need to be made and talking with car repair shops;
- Know driving rules and regulations, car etiquette and courtesies, local roads and conditions, and security issues;
- Do regular checks of all vehicle and driver paperwork to make sure it follows all rules;
- Takes care of all fleet security control systems and related work programs to make sure the vehicle security system is working;
- Compares planned activities (work programs) to vehicle/equipment logs, noting any changes or deviations from the agreed-upon schedule and reporting them to the Head of Business;
- Keeps and monitors historical data about vehicles and makes sure all information is correctly recorded so that management can make decisions;
- Makes reports and scorecards, such as daily, weekly, and monthly reports, changes, and review reports.
Expected Results
- Under the fleet supervisor’s direction, all cars must be in good shape, and any repairs that need to be done should be done as soon as possible.
- The driver has to keep an eye on how the cars are doing and let the managers know when they need to be fixed.
Skills
- Knows a lot about mechanics, electrics, and electronics;
- Can read and understand electrical diagrams, mechanical plans, and drawings;
- Can use portable tools, including power tools;
- Must pay attention to details;
- Must be able to solve problems;
- Must be a team player.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- Should have at least an HND in a related area (Mechanical Engineering)
- Should have worked in the field for at least two years.
Note: You will have to do any other job that the General Manager gives you.
