Role Title: Junior Agronomist

Role & Responsibilities:
- Agronomic management and improving the land so that tomato and other crops of interest can be grown.
- All agronomic production processes should use local inputs.
- Make a clear plan for developing and improving the soil and land to improve crop yield.
- Make clear plans for how to run the tomato farm, including how to harvest the tomatoes.
- Good Agronomic Practices (fertilizer, pesticides, weed control, irrigation schedule, etc.) need to be thought out and put into action.
- To get the best germination, you will need to make a plan for planting seeds and make sure it is carried out. You will also need to oversee how the seeding room is run.
- Help find a local agronomist and support staff by taking part in the hiring process.
- Make sure that all staff and workers on the field take all safety precautions, like putting on protective clothing.
- Make sure that everything you do and how you grow your crops follows the rules for protecting the environment.
- Create a way to keep track of the costs of all inputs, like labor, that are used to run the farm.
- Make plans to protect tomato plants from pests, diseases, and bad environmental effects.
- Develop plans to reduce losses during and after the tomato harvest, and make sure you keep good records.
- Make sure agrochemicals are used in a safe way.
- Make reports of production and give them on time

Requirements:
Academic And Technical Requirements
- BSc./M.Sc. in Agronomy, Crop Protection, Soil Science, or another related course
- Have at least 5–7 years of relevant field experience in agronomy or related fields
- Learn about Ghana’s agricultural ecosystems and how crops are grown there.
- Have knowledge of and experience with experiments in the field and gathering and analyzing data.
- Good knowledge of sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
- Good knowledge of what nutrients tomatoes need to grow
- How much water a crop needs to grow in the tropics Agricultural land improvement techniques
- Strategies for protecting crops
- Knowledge of drip irrigation technology and how to take care of the system
- Knowledge of GAP for the most important tropical crops
