ROLE TITLE: Bogger Operator

Company Profile

Underground Mining Alliance Ltd. (“UMA”) is a joint venture between African Underground Mining Services Limited (AUMS) and Rocksure International that conducts underground development and production for the AngloGold Ashanti (Obuasi) Mine.

Job Description

UMA is looking for skilled and experienced candidates to fill the following jobs. Bogger Operator: Manual & Remote. These are Obuasi-based Fixed-Term positions with a competitive work schedule at the company’s Obuasi operations. Key Responsibilities

• The Underground Remote Bogger Operator will report directly to the Underground Shift Supervisor, and their primary responsibility will be to bog all development and production headings, load trucks, and keep road works in order for underground mining activities to run safely and efficiently.
• Bog development headings and stockpiles for trucks.
• Maintain trucks at full efficiency, keeping all ore, poor quality, marginal, and rubbish separate;
• Bog out and clean, which may entail examining for misfires, notifying the shift supervisor, hosing out, and scaling.
• Tram material from stockpiles and other bogging duties, as needed;
• Backfilling stops using rockfill, cement aggregate fill (CAF), and cement rock fill (CRF);
• Keep the roads in the working area clean and clear of pooled water and other potential hazards.
• Manual and remote bogging of production stops to stockpile.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical understanding of bogies and trucks.
• A minimum of five (5) years of underground experience in hard rock mining in a mechanised mine operating underground haulage equipment.
• Experience using Sandvik LH517I, LH621, LH517, and LH514 Boggers for tele-remote bogging in the underground mining business
• Requirements for this position include backfilling stops with rockfill, cement aggregate fill (CAF), and cement rock fill (CRF), as well as bogging rates of at least one tonne per hour for manual bogging and 65 tonnes per hour for remote bogging. Candidates must also have a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licence (C & E Classes) and the ability to drive underground.
• Flexibility and desire to help with various jobs and duties.
• Solid experience in underground mining operations.
• Must have good work ethics and be able to speak respectfully with coworkers.
• Must have Minerals Commission accreditation as an equipment operator.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate under pressure and a will to succeed.
• Ability to work in a day and night rotation.
