1. Project Administrative Assistant
Roles
The Project Administrative Assistant, under the direction of the project manager, will:
- Assist with project management, monitoring, evaluation, and report preparation.
- Organize project documentation for easy access.
- Provide administrative, logistical, and financial support, including record-keeping of project funds and expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with financial rules, review expenditures, validate FACE forms, and provide financial information for audits and project decisions.
- Consolidate financial records and communicate with responsible parties regarding financial matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration required.
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in project management with international funding organizations (experience with UNDP or UN is an asset).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and great English skills
Roles
The Project Manager will be in charge of the project’s day-to-day management and will report to the Project Coordinator (PC) on all substantive and administrative concerns. The PC will thereafter report to the National Project Director (NPD) in consultation with the designated UNDP programme manager. The PM will help the PC in submitting periodic reports to the Project Board as directed by the NPD, as well as assisting the PC and NPD in meeting their government obligations under the Project. In addition, the PM will help coordinate with UNDP, other UN agencies, CSOs, project partners, and donor agencies that provide co-financing.
Qualifications & Experience
- A university degree (MSc or PhD) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Chemistry, Mining, Geology, or Chemical/Biological Sciences
- At least 5 years of experience in natural resource or environmental management, including monitoring and evaluation of toxic chemicals like mercury and artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM), with a demonstrated ability to
- Excellent leadership, management, and coordination abilities for executing major multi-stakeholder projects, including financial and technical aspects.
- Capable of managing technical and administrative teams, supervising several working groups, and coordinating with subnational stakeholders, including community and government.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with varied stakeholders at all levels for long-term success.
