Berves Engineering Limited is looking for a Senior Project Planner to work full-time on-site (Ahafo Kenyasi) in Ghana’s Ahafo region. The Senior Project Planner will be in charge of planning and scheduling project activities, managing project resources, and maintaining good communication with subcontractors and labour on-site. The function entails managing project timetables, assessing project progress, and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure project success.

Role Description

• Interact with maintenance people and production supervisors continually to help them make informed decisions that will reduce downtime and increase productivity.
• Work closely with the General Foremen and supervisors to ensure that servicing machines are delivered to the workshop at the appropriate times.
• Reduce shift and standard maintenance delays.
• Ensure that the reasons and comments are accurately recorded.
• Schedule the correct downtime and uptime of equipment.
• Schedule daily preventative maintenance for equipment and socialize with Maintenance Supervisors.
• Hourly follow-up on all down equipment and updates for production supervisors.
• Ensure that all data collected and recorded are accurate and genuine.
• Promptly transmit any machinery equipment maintenance requirements reported by operators to the maintenance staff.
• Complies with all EHS &T policies, procedures, and directives, including proper use of safety devices and protective equipment, early reporting of any hazardous conditions, hazard control and elimination, and immediate reporting of injuries and accidents that occur in the course of work.
• Ensure that important performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment dependability, departmental performance, planning, and scheduling business flow processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Requirements for this position include 5 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance planning and a valid Ghanaian driving and operating license.
• A Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification is a plus.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Capable of designing and implementing process changes to increase results, save costs, and eliminate waste.
• Must have a thorough awareness and knowledge of preventive planned maintenance.
• Willing to work extended hours to meet tight deadlines.
• Possesses strong self-motivation, a positive attitude, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrates great work ethic, attention to detail, and outstanding organizational abilities while working with individuals and groups at all levels of the business.
• A positive and proactive attitude toward teamwork and safety.
