POSITION: Finance Manager

Job Summary

We currently seek a Finance Manager to join our team in Ghana. This position places you at the heart of our financial operations, where you will lead the finance function, ensure strong governance, and deliver accurate and timely financial information to both local management and the Group Headquarters. Your leadership will directly influence financial performance, strategic decision making, and alignment with Group policies.

Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Finance function, ensuring high levels of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the General Manager and the Team, providing financial insight and recommendations.
  • Promote a culture of financial discipline across the organisation.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long term financial planning.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and financial projections based on evolving economic indicators and business performance.
  • Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and develop KPIs and management dashboards.

Reporting

  • Serve as the primary finance interface with Corporate Finance and Group Controlling.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely submission of all financial reports.
  • Deliver high quality reporting packages to Group Headquarters in accordance with corporate deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and applicable IFRS and local GAAP requirements.

Financial Information Systems Performance

  • Lead the implementation, integration, and maintenance of financial applications including SAP, HFM, and Power BI.
  • Ensure the integrity, traceability, and usability of financial data.
  • Promote technological innovation to enhance financial performance and efficiency.

Accounting and Control

  • Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll accounting, and Treasury.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and financial governance.
  • Oversee external audits and coordinate relationships with auditors.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Ghana tax legislation and statutory obligations including CIT, VAT, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to Group internal control frameworks and corporate governance policies.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Treasury and Cash Management

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Optimise cash management and financing activities.
  • Oversee bank account management, banking authorisation governance, and relationships with financial institutions.

Business Partnering

  • Support commercial and operational teams through financial analysis and performance reviews.
  • Evaluate investment proposals and business cases.
  • Participate in strategic projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and transformation initiatives.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team.
  • Define objectives and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a high performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Drive process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, professional experience, and leadership competencies. Specifically, we require:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience.
  • Experience in multinational companies with complex reporting structures.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting under IFRS.
  • Experience managing statutory reporting, audits, tax compliance, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Previous experience in shared services or matrix organisations is advantageous.
