The Chef De Partie position transcends standard cooking responsibilities. You will take ownership of supervising shifts within your assigned kitchen section while producing food items that meet exacting specifications and recipes. Core Responsibilities
Your daily activities will encompass a comprehensive range of culinary and supervisory functions:
- Manage daily production shifts effectively while ensuring smooth kitchen operations
- Train and monitor shift employees to comply with proper work procedures and production standards
- Prepare and cook food items according to approved specifications and recipes
- Monitor yields of products to ensure maximum usage and minimize waste
- Ensure quality production standards are followed and maintained consistently
- Adhere strictly to HACCP and regional safety regulations in compliance with company policies
- Prepare material lists for designated recipes accurately
- Deputize for the Sous Chef during their absence
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards across your designated section
- Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service delivery
Required Qualifications and Experience
Educational Foundation:
Candidates must hold a qualification as a Chef by trade, with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, formal culinary education, or a related field required. This educational background should demonstrate comprehensive understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
Core Competencies Required:
- Proven culinary skills with ability to produce food items to exacting specifications
- Strong supervisory capabilities for managing shift employees effectively
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations
- Understanding of yield management and waste reduction techniques
- Ability to train and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Strong organizational skills for managing production schedules
- Excellent attention to detail in all food preparation and presentation
- Physical stamina for standing and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
