A company that takes care of buildings wants to hire an Accounts Officer
Brief Description of the Job
- Handles all day-to-day accounting tasks; records and reviews journal entries; analyzes general ledger accounts to make sure they are complete and correct;
- Make supporting schedules and reconciliations for all general ledgers that are consistent and correct.
- Do a timely reconciliation of all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including looking at the aged analyses and taking steps to fix any problems and keep the books up to date.
- Prepare answers to internal and external audit questions and help put audit findings into action.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts and follow up on any unresolved problems to get them fixed.
- Prepare and file statutory tax and non-tax returns correctly and on time, and make sure they are filed correctly.
- Always handle and balance small amounts of cash correctly. Know how to figure out payroll and report it.
- Keep an updated list of fixed assets at all times.
- Be in charge of closing all general ledger accounts at the end of each month and year.
- Provide excellent customer service to all clients, both inside and outside the company.
- Do any other tasks that your boss might give you from time to time.

- Teamwork and the ability to work with others.
- Effective communication skills.
- Enough knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
- Familiarity with international financial reporting standards (IFRSs).
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus at least five years of work experience in a similar position.
- A part- or fully-qualified professional certification, such as CPA, ICAG, ACCA, or CIMA. OR
- A diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field, plus at least six years of experience in a similar job.
