Position Description
MSIG is looking for a passionate, well-organized, client-oriented, and dynamic professional with the required qualification/s and experience listed below. MSIG’s mission is to serve the underserved and improve access to Family Planning (FP) and other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services. MSI Reproductive Choices is unequivocally pro-choice. Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Locum Telemedicine Midwife will be to provide high-quality core MSIG clinical services to customers who phone the Contact Centre in Accra for Telemed counseling on MA and FP services. She will also be expected to assist the center of excellence where she will be working in maintaining high-quality clinical services and promoting a welcoming and professional environment for all clients. The Locum Telemed Midwife will report to the Contact Centre Manager in charge.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide remote clinical guidance over the phone to women and adolescents seeking care for Medical Abortion, Family Planning, Fertility Management, and STI management.
- To ensure maximum client satisfaction, promote and maintain a warm, courteous, professional, and efficient environment for all prospective telemedicine clients.
- Counsel and assist telemedicine clients in making informed decisions about their pregnancy options, including FP/SRH options where necessary.
- Assure that clinical issues for telemedicine customers are minimized or addressed professionally when they occur.
- When necessary, provide accurate clinical information and training to contact center agents in coordination with the Contact Center Manager.
- Enter as many telemedicine client details as possible into the organization’s Electronic Health Record system and other MSIG databases as needed.
- Demonstrate best-in-class phone manners while conducting Telemedicine consultations with clients over the phone.
- Maintain and manage all Telemedicine consultation records.
- Provide core and non-core MSIG Clinical services, such as STI management and Cervical Cancer Screening in the center of excellence, as needed.
- Represent MSIG in media interviews to communicate tales about the organization’s influence and to give medical information about core and non-core services provided by MSG channels.
- Assist the social media team with the screening of medical material and acting as a medical advisor in the production of digital media videos.
Required Qualifications or Experience
A recognized clinical certification Diploma or Degree in Midwifery is required.
Must be registered and in good standing with a recognized local clinical professional body in Ghana.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in offering Sexual and Reproductive Health services for at least three (3) years post-graduation.
- Know the clinical policies, protocols, and standards of the Ghana Health Service.
- Outstanding provider-client interaction abilities
- Work experience with the Ghana Health Service and/or an INGO is preferred.
- Self-assured, articulate, and analytical with a keen eye for detail
- Some understanding of Ghana’s telemedicine healthcare system
- Must be multi-skilled and capable of working with little supervision.
- High communication skills and familiarity with multimedia interviews are required.
- Women and men seeking Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services are sympathized with.
