The Opportunity
The Cook’s Helper prepares ingredients for short-order breakfast cooking as well as sandwich and salad fillings under the supervision of the Food Service Supervisors. Preparing meals for Dial for Dining patients, clients, and customers; preparing food for catering and café customers; and finishing the production of food products are just a few examples of responsibilities.
Completes short-order breakfast cooking, helps with proper food storage, follows proper food handling procedures, aids in maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment and equipment, waits on customers, takes orders, and completes them. Reports issues with food preparation, equipment, sanitation, and safety hazards to the supervisor. Participates in departmental quality assurance programs.
Workweek: Monday through Sunday; day, evening, and back shifts are all possible.
Qualifications for Cook Jobs
- Minimum requirements for secondary school graduation (GED) equivalent to the 12th grade.
