Job Title: Intern (Planning & Data Component)

Project Summary:
The Planning and Data Component of Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID) comes after the Internally Generated Fund Component (IGF). The goal of this part is to make sure that current Geographic Information System and Remote Sensing are used to improve spatial planning at the subnational level (MMDAs).
Scope of Role:
The intern will be a part of the Governance for Inclusive Development (GovID) Program’s Planning and Data component. Working with sub-national and national organizations will be part of the job. The goal of the component is to make sure that spatial planning and data management are done well at the subnational level.
Tasks:
- Help partner institutions develop and carry out projects that build their ability to help with their spatial planning.
- Help make sure work plans are carried out on time.
- Help with the GovID Programme’s reporting and information management.
- Help plan and organize workshops, lectures, and other events
- Support monthly meetings with partner institutions and other important parties;
- Do other jobs and tasks as asked by management
- Come up with and carry out training ideas on how to use GIS and remote sensing in local spatial planning.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must be currently engaged in a Master’s program or have finished their Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geoinformatics, Development Planning, or a related field within the last six months.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a mixed setting, as well as a strong interest in urban development, spatial planning, and decentralization.
- Motivated team player with an organized, systematic, aggressive, detail- and goal-oriented work style
- You speak and write English very well.
- Ideally, you already have some hands-on experience working with people from other countries.
- Using all of Microsoft’s programs.
Location: Accra.
