- In Ghana, the petroleum downstream industry is partially deregulated, with Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Registered Bulk Importers serving as the primary supply players.
- There are four (4) significant players on the demand side: TEMGPLC, VIVO, ZEN, and GOIL, as well as more than 50 other independents.
- The government owns crucial supply logistics infrastructure, and the RBI is starting to build its depots.
- Locals entering the mine fuel supply business, as well as government policies encouraging local content, pose a rising danger.
- Lubricants are blended locally at Tema Lube Oil Company, a joint venture between TEMG, VIVO, GOIL, and SSNIT.
- The law also permits the importation of lubricants, though.
- Ghana’s supply mix is variable, with inherent opportunities and dangers.
