Job Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team and manage our collections process as well as the company’s tax responsibilities. The ideal applicant will optimize efficiency, support our financial plan, and maintain compliance with all tax rules by leveraging our accounting ERP.
Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the collection process to guarantee that consumers pay on time and that accurate records of transactions are kept.
- Reduce outstanding receivables and enhance cash flow by implementing effective collection tactics.
- Contact clients to handle any billing questions and, if required, to discuss payment alternatives.
- Maintain a current understanding of Ghanaian tax rules and compliance needs.
- Prepare and file tax returns, such as VAT, PAYE, and corporate taxes, on schedule while guaranteeing the correctness and completeness of all submissions.
- Collaborate with the finance manager to establish tax solutions that are in line with the company’s goals.
- In coordination with the accounting officer, reconcile tax accounts and resolve inconsistencies.
- Assist with the preparation of financial accounts and reports, focusing on collections and tax liabilities.
- As needed, work with external auditors and tax specialists.
- Make use of the accounting ERP system to automate collection and tax-related operations.
- Participate in financial audits and put audit suggestions for collections and taxation into action.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial policies and procedures, particularly in credit control and tax compliance.
Individual Characteristics
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related subject is required.
- At least three years of finance experience are required, with a particular emphasis on collections and tax matters.
- Expertise in the use of ERP systems for financial management.
- Excellent knowledge of Ghana’s tax rules and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as thorough attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-sufficient, with the capacity to operate efficiently in a small team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High honesty and dependability.
