The Role
Degas Ghana Limited is now looking for a logistics Manager. The candidate will be part of a growing team, providing specialist collaboration and implementation support. We are looking for an experienced and well-organized Logistics/Warehouse Manager to join our team and play a key role in optimizing our supply chain and warehouse operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.
- Implement and maintain best practices for warehouse operations such as receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that the supply chain operates smoothly and communicates effectively.
- Inventory Control: Create and implement inventory management techniques.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling inconsistencies.
- Optimize warehouse area utilization and layout to achieve optimal efficiency.
Logistics and distribution:
- Manage transportation and logistics operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, off-takers, and other stakeholders to guarantee that goods are delivered on time and under budget.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with logistics providers to reduce costs and improve service standards.
- Lead and motivate a warehouse team by offering training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Create a friendly and collaborative work atmosphere that values teamwork and a strong work ethic.
- Create and implement staffing strategies to fulfil operational needs.
- Continuous improvement involves identifying and implementing process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to create continuous improvement projects.
- Implement and adhere to safety measures to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with transporters and logistics firms to handle product arrival and distribution.
REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience (5 years) in warehouse management, logistics, or a related position.
- Excellent understanding of inventory management, distribution, and logistics procedures.
- Outstanding leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other necessary software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
- Available to start immediately.
- Ability to develop strategy and leadership capabilities
- Competence in developing and efficiently managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to multitask and operate effectively under pressure with little or no supervision.
- Excellent organization and leadership skills.
