Job Title: Data Engineer II
Job Description
The Data Engineer II will be in charge of designing, building, and taking care of our organization’s data pipelines and infrastructure. They will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to make sure that data is collected, stored, and analyzed correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka can be used to design and build data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Work with data scientists, analysts, and other interested parties to figure out what data is needed and to make sure data is collected, stored, and analyzed correctly.
- Check and monitor the quality of the data to make sure it is correct and complete.
- Improve the performance and scalability of data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Data pipelines and infrastructure should be written down for future use and maintenance.
- Stay up to date on new technologies and trends in data engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka that deal with large amounts of data
- Experience with data platforms in the cloud, like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Strong ability to solve problems and think things through
- Excellent ability to talk to people and work with them
