Job Title: WASSA Bible Translator
Key Responsibilities
- Translate the Bible into the WaSSA language.
- Make annual plans for Bible translation activities.
- Fill out a daily report form for the team coordinator to sign.
- Make monthly work plans and reports.
- Prepare and draft a translation of the Bible into Wassa for internal review.
- Lead community review sessions and take part in them.
- Attend workshops held as part of the Bible translation project.
- Be a BSG ambassador or representative in the Wassa community.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
Competencies
- At least a bachelor’s degree in linguistics, theology, translation, or a similar field;
- Proficiency in computer software programs and familiarity with e-mail and the internet;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Ability to work well with people, the church, and other stakeholders;
- Pays attention to detail;
- Ability to meet deadlines and make sure work is of high quality;
- Integrity—being honest, trustworthy, and reliable;
