Students who meet the requirements will be evaluated for the scholarships listed below based on their application for admission to NUS. Applicants who are selected as finalists will receive an invitation to complete a scholarship application separately.

ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship

The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship is provided to assist exceptional first-year students from ASEAN member nations, except Singapore.

Candidates will undergo consideration and selection for the scholarship based on their application for undergraduate admission to NUS. Applicants who are selected as finalists will receive an invitation to complete a scholarship application separately.

Advantages of Scholarships

  • Tuition expenses are subsidized after receiving the Ministry of Education’s Tuition Grant Subsidy.
  • An annual living allowance of S$5,800.
  • A one-time computer allowance of S$1,750 will be provided upon registration.
  • The annual accommodation allowance is S$3,000.

Undergraduate scholarship in the field of Science & Technology

The Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship is a scholarship specifically designed for exceptional Asian students (excluding Singapore residents) who are entering their first year of undergraduate studies. Its purpose is to provide financial support to these students in the field of science and technology.

Applicants will be evaluated and selected for the scholarship based on their application for undergraduate admission to NUS. Applicants who are selected as finalists will receive an invitation to complete a scholarship application separately.

Advantages of Scholarships

  • Tuition fees that are subsidized (after receiving the MOE Tuition Grant Subsidy) and fees that are required to be paid.
  • An annual living allowance of S$6,000.
  • Upon enrolling, students will get a one-time computer allowance of S$1,750.
  • A one-time settling-in allowance of S$200 will be provided upon enrolment.
  • Yearly housing stipend equal to the cost of the cheapest double room in on-campus housing
  • A travel allowance will be provided to cover the transportation expenses for the journey from the home country to Singapore at the beginning of the course, as well as the return journey between Singapore and the home country when the course is completed (subject to proof of employment).

Terms and Conditions

  • The scholarship is granted to first-year students who are enrolled in the specified full-time undergraduate program at NUS.
  • The School of Computing offers programs in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, and Business Analytics.
  • The College of Design and Engineering is exclusively for students pursuing engineering majors. The disciplines encompassed are Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • The Computer Engineering program is offered by the School of Computing and the College of Design and Engineering.
  • The College of Humanities and Sciences is limited to science majors, except Environmental Studies and Pharmacy. The subjects offered are Chemistry, Data Science and Analytics, Data Science and Economics, Food Science and Technology, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Science, Physics, Quantitative Finance, and Statistics.
  • The award also includes students enrolled in local Double Degree Programs, as long as the scholarship recipient’s home program is part of the stated programs.
  • The scholarship is valid for the standard duration of the undergraduate program at NUS.
  • Upon graduation, scholarship recipients are obligated to fulfill a six-year commitment with a company registered in Singapore.
  • Scholarship holders are not allowed to simultaneously hold any other form of financial assistance, such as a fellowship, bursary, grant, award, or allowance.
  • The scholarship will be extended each semester, on the condition that the recipient maintains a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.50 (or its equivalent) and demonstrates excellent conduct.
  • Scholarship recipients are limited to participating in one semester of overseas programs, such as NUS Overseas Colleges and overseas Student Exchange Programme, throughout their whole academic period.
  • NUS does not offer a promise or assurance of employment to scholarship applicants upon completion of their studies.
  • If the scholarship winner chooses to withdraw from the University or end the scholarship before its completion, the University retains the authority to require the scholar to reimburse all scholarship funds that have been distributed.

The NUS International Undergraduate Scholarship

  • The NUS Overseas Undergraduate Scholarship is available to assist exceptionally accomplished overseas students from all countries (except Singapore).
  • Candidates will undergo consideration and selection for the scholarship based on their application for undergraduate admission to NUS. Applicants who are selected as finalists will receive an invitation to submit a scholarship application individually.

Requirements for eligibility

  • All individuals from every nation, except Singapore, are included.
  • Possess robust leadership attributes and have promising potential.
  • Possess an impressive co-curricular activity track record.
  • Demonstrate exceptional academic performance in high school
  • Seeking admission to a full-time undergraduate degree program at NUS
  • Transfer applicants from both local and abroad universities are ineligible.

Eligibility criteria for the National University of Singapore scholarship

The scholarship has specific eligibility criteria that must be met to qualify.

  • The applicant must be a citizen of an Asian country, except Singapore.
  • The applicant must be seeking admission to the NUS program in Computing Engineering or Science, excluding Pharmacy.
  • A minimum grade of 75% in class XII or its equivalent is required.

Prerequisites for obtaining a scholarship at the National University of Singapore

All international applicants seeking admission to NUS must have either completed or be in the process of completing at least twelve years of general education, specifically high school, by July of the year they are applying.
