The University of Manchester Scholarships aim to attract driven and academically successful students, offer an interdisciplinary educational program, and provide distinctive learning experiences that stimulate and push students. Regarding the University of Manchester

Manchester has a distinguished history of pioneering research, with 25 Nobel laureates having studied or worked at the institution. This includes current academic staff members, Professors Sir Kostya Novoselov and Sir Andre Geim, who jointly received the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics for their work on isolating graphene’s characteristics.

Eligibility criteria for University of Manchester Scholarships

Several methods exist for joining the Honors Program at Manchester University.

1. You may receive an invitation to apply.

  • Prospective students who submit a completed application for admission by May 1 and receive a Presidential or Dean’s Scholarship will be eligible to apply to the Honors Program.

2. Enrolled or transferring students to Manchester University must:

  • possess a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, with a minimum of 12 credit hours
  • Fill out the online application for the Honors Program.
  • Submit the Faculty Recommendation Form to Honors Director Tim McKenna-Buchanan.
  • The Scholarship for Multicultural Excellence in Leadership includes tuition, fees, lodging, and board.

Accepted students can access the scholarship application on their customized Manchester website. One scholarship is granted annually and can be renewed for a total of four years.

Qualifications:

  • Incoming first-year undergraduate student
  • Racial or ethnic minority
  • Admitted to Manchester University
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency status

Classification of scholarships within the University of Manchester Scholarships

1. Scholarship for high academic achievement

An honors scholarship is granted, covering tuition, fees, housing, and board annually for a maximum of four years. The Honors Scholarship supersedes the Presidential Scholarship. To remain in the Honors Program, Honors Scholars need to uphold a 3.5 CGPA, stay active in the program, and graduate with honors & achievement.

2. Trustee Scholarship

Five Trustee Scholarships are given to the top five alternates for the Honors Scholarship, each valued at a maximum of $24,000 per year for a duration of up to four years. The Trustee Scholarship supersedes the Presidential Scholarship. Trustee Scholars are required to uphold a 3.5 CGPA, remain actively engaged in the Honors Program, and graduate with honors from the program.

3. Multicultural Excellence in Leadership Scholarship

The scholarship includes coverage for tuition, and fees, as well as room and board expenses. Accepted students can access the scholarship application on their customized Manchester website. One scholarship is granted annually and can be renewed for up to four years.

  • Admitted to Manchester University
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Required to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Applying for the University of Manchester Scholarships

As a student pursuing your initial associate’s or bachelor’s degree, you should complete the undergraduate student application. Keep in mind that one additional document is required to complete the application procedure along with your application.

Your high school transcript(s) You must arrange for an official transcript to be delivered directly from your school to our office. Applications can be submitted through electronic platforms such as Parchment or Naviance or delivered by email to admitinfo@manchester.edu.

For individuals who have completed college and desire to pursue further education at Manchester University to earn an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, the transfer student application should be utilized.

International applicants pursuing their first Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and not US citizens should utilize our International Student Application. Manchester University utilizes the Common Application to enhance support for international students.

Students enrolled in Manchester’s Master of Athletic Training, Master of Science in Pharmacogenomics, or Doctor of Pharmacy programs can choose the corresponding application links provided above.
