Famous Stanford alums include golfer Tiger Woods, who attended the university as a student, actress Sigourney Weaver, Hall of Fame NFL quarterback John Elway, and former US President Herbert Hoover.

The King Global Leadership Program (KGLP), which is supported by a kind donation from Dorothy and Robert King, MBA ’60, offers a wide range of options that students can customize to fit their academic schedules and leadership objectives. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars’ leadership development programs are supported by the Kings’ gift.

Through KGLP, scholars hone their intercultural and multidisciplinary perspectives and cultivate leadership qualities and skills, such as innovative problem-solving, making decisions in the face of ambiguity, productive teamwork, and effective idea communication.

Stanford graduate programs can provide up to three years of financing for Knight-Hennessy scholars. This covers joint and dual degrees as well as the JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, DMA, and PhD programs.

For the current freshmen class, the average total amount of scholarships and grants obtained by need-based aid recipients is $68,308. This includes grants from federal, state, and private sources in addition to the average $61,793 scholarship from Stanford.
