Job Title: Senior Advisor, SME Development and Tourism

At the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, we work with political leaders all over the world to bring about change. Key Responsibilities

Help and knowledge from advisors:

• Focus on our client’s needs, which are the most important problems and priorities of political leaders, and come up with practical solutions that are sensitive to politics for SME and Entrepreneurship Development and Tourism Sector Development.
• As part of our larger plan for learning and growth, help our SME and tourism organizations learn.
• Shape and live a positive culture that encourages ambition, innovation, and delivery by using the best of TBI beyond “boxes and lines”
• Work with the leadership and teams of global advisory to make sure that your help improves the quality and impact of our political advice.

Leadership and business growth:

• Work with a small team of experts and help TBI create a unique way for top political leaders to get advice on economic development.
• Lead the creation of toolkits that can be used by other TBI teams to help clients with SME and entrepreneurship development and tourism sector development.

External engagement:

• Represent TBI at international and continental meetings to show off our work and make it easier for partner governments to be heard on the world stage.
• Help with written publications and thought leadership

Requirements

This is a high-level position that calls for an outstanding candidate:

• Strong knowledge of SME and entrepreneurship development strategies and a lot of experience in the field of SME and Entrepreneurship Development, with a focus on making policies, designing programs, and putting them into place.
• Demonstrated experience and fluency in working with and advising senior political leaders and senior government officials to set priorities, give advice, and help with delivery.
• Experience with managing stakeholders, building relationships, and “getting things done” in large, complex organizations with many layers.
• Proven skills in managing projects, including the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities well.
• Experience working with people from different backgrounds and in different fields.
• A history of making frameworks and toolkits that help organizations and coworkers do their jobs well.
• Positivity and living up to the values of an optimistic and practical changemaker
• English fluency is required, and being able to speak another relevant language would be a plus.
• Willingness to travel often (30%) to project countries around the world
