Study In UK: The Edinburgh University GREAT Scholarships 2024

In collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Edinburgh will provide five scholarships to students from Mexico, Ghana, Malaysia, Turkey, and Vietnam who are applying for an eligible one-year postgraduate Masters programme for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, initiated by the British Council’s Study UK campaign in collaboration with various UK universities, aids students from 18 countries in pursuing top-tier UK higher education options. The Study UK campaign is providing 150 scholarships from UK colleges to students in 18 countries worldwide.

The scholarship programme provides a minimum of £10,000 in financial assistance to students undertaking one year of postgraduate education in the UK. Students can enrol in courses in many subjects at the 41 institutions located throughout England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Award

Each scholarship will provide £10,000, which will be subtracted from your tuition fees and will be valid for one academic year.

Qualification

Scholarships at the University of Edinburgh are available to citizens and residents of Mexico, Ghana, and Malaysia who are accepted for full-time admission to a qualifying one-year on-campus postgraduate Master’s degree.

The following information outlines the eligibility criteria for each programme and the scholarship application process, which can be accessed through MyEd (further details may be found under Applying).

Mexican applicants

All qualified individuals within Moray House School of Education and Sport, the School of Health in Social Science, and the School of Law as specified.

School of Health in Social Science

  • Master of Science in Advanced Nursing with a focus on Clinical Research
  • Master of Science in Advanced Nursing with a focus on Education
  • Master of Science in Advanced Nursing with a focus on Leadership
  • Master of Science in Advanced Nursing
  • Master of Science in Applied Psychology with a focus on healthcare for children and young people
  • Master of Science in Counselling Studies
  • Master of Science in Mental Health for Children and Adolescents: Psychological Methods
  • Master of Science in Psychology of Mental Health (Conversion)
  • Master of Science in International and Cross-cultural Counselling Studies

Criterion

The scholarship will be granted based on academic excellence. Candidates must possess or anticipate acquiring the foreign equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.

Applying

Qualified candidates must submit an online scholarship application.

The scholarship deadlines are as listed below:

  • GREAT Ghana: 23:59 BST April 1, 2024
  • Malaysia: 23:59 BST on April 1, 2024
  • Mexico: 23:59 BST on April 30th, 2024
  • The GREAT Turkey programme is currently active and receiving applications until 23:59 BST on May 15, 2024.
  • The GREAT Vietnam programme is currently active and is open for submissions until 23:59 BST on May 15, 2024.

Applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh to access the scholarship application portal.  After submitting an admission application, it may take up to five business days for all system checks to be finalised and access to be provided.
