The eligibility criteria for the Tubitak Aziz Sancar Postdoctoral Research Fellowship are as follows:

Applicants are required to fulfill the following criteria:

• Citizenship requirement: The individual must hold citizenship in the Republic of Turkey.
• Doctoral Degree Requirement: Applicants must have recently acquired a doctoral degree or be on track to complete it within six months of the scholarship start date.

Application procedure for the Tubitak Aziz Sancar Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is as follows:

Prospective candidates are required to provide the following:

• Application form that has been finished or filled out.
• A comprehensive academic curriculum vitae (CV) that provides a thorough overview of the researcher’s qualifications and prior research experience, including theses, publications, and other relevant achievements.
• A letter of intent that elucidates the candidate’s research, demonstrating its congruence with the work of Professor Dr. Aziz Sancar, and furnishing detailed particulars of the proposed research topic.
• Official confirmation from the thesis adviser is required, stating that the doctoral diploma or medical specialization certificate, which has been approved by the Ministry of Health, will be achieved within the next six months.
• Evidence of linguistic aptitude:
• A minimum score of 65 in either the YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL exams, which must have been taken within the last five years,
• A foreign language exam result that is considered equal and has been approved by ÖSYM within the past two years, or
• A credential attesting to the completion of undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate study from a Turkish university where the language of teaching is English.

Assessment Technique

The evaluation of applications occurs in two stages.

Initial Assessment

Application documents undergo scrutiny during the preliminary examination process. Applications that are not submitted during the designated application period, fail to meet any of the application requirements, have missing documents or are not in the specified format, or are submitted via fax or email after the end of business hours on the application deadline will be rejected without undergoing scientific evaluation. The initial assessment is carried out by the Directorate of Scientist Support Programs.

Scientific Assessment

After the initial examination procedure at the scientific evaluation stage, candidates with complete documents will be assessed by an evaluation board selected by Prof. Dr. Aziz SANCAR, under the coordination of TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate. Prof. Dr. Aziz SANCAR will determine the candidates who are eligible to receive help in the final evaluation.
