About the Scholarship Program

The Scholarship was founded in 2016 and is financed by Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

The primary objective of the Scholarship is to acknowledge and incentivize high academic performance along with extraordinary achievements in sports, arts, culture, and/or leadership. The purpose of providing university accommodation is to enhance the student experience and facilitate outstanding academic achievements.

The required degree level for the University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship:

The University of Auckland offers the Top Achiever Scholarship 2024 in New Zealand, providing up to $25,000 and accommodation for students pursuing undergraduate level studies at the university.

• Annually, a maximum of 250 scholarships are granted.
• Each scholarship has a duration of one year.
• The scholarship is worth $25,000 for each recipient.

Main School Leaver Scholarships

This application is specifically for the University of Auckland School Leaver Scholarships. To be eligible for any of these scholarships, please fill out this application form. The regulations for these scholarships can be accessed below:

Applicants who wish to be considered for faculty entry-level scholarships must apply for either the Top Achiever, Māori Academic Excellence, Pacific Academic Excellence, or the Academic Potential Scholarship – School Leavers.

Faculty Entry-Level Scholarships

• Undergraduate students who are entering the Faculty of Arts are eligible for the Entry Level Undergraduate Scholarship.
• Undergraduate students who are entering the Faculty of Business and Economics are eligible to apply for the Entry-Level Undergraduate Scholarship.
• The Undergraduate students who are entering the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries have the opportunity to apply for the Entry-Level Undergraduate Scholarship.
• Edward Connolly Undergraduate students who are entering the Faculty of Engineering are eligible to apply for the Entry Level Undergraduate Scholarship.
• The scholarship offered is the Faculty of Science High Achiever Undergraduate Entry Scholarship.

Eligible Nationalities for the University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship:

• This award is exclusively available to students who are citizens or permanent residents of the country.

Requirements for the University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship:

In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must satisfy the following requirements:

• Hold New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status.
• You are presently in your last year of high school or kura in New Zealand.
• You intend to matriculate as a full-time student in an undergraduate program at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland in the upcoming year.

Further factors to take into account

• Applicants who have successfully finished Year 11 in a New Zealand high school or kura and are presently enrolled in an NCEA, IB, or CIE program abroad are eligible to apply.
• Eligibility is limited to students who have successfully finished an NCEA, IB, or CIE program in the same year as their application.
• Māori and Pacific students who intend to register for a Certificate in Health Sciences at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, may also be eligible for consideration.
