Requirements for New Zealand University of Auckland Business Masters Scholarship eligibility:

  • Domestic Student Status: Applicants must possess New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Academic Achievement: To meet the requirements, you must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) of 6.00 in your most recent qualifying program. The minimum GPA/GPE requirement for Māori and Pacific applicants is 5.50.
  • Program Enrollment: To be eligible, you must be enrolled as a full-time student in one of the Master’s programs offered at the University of Auckland Business School. The following programs are included:
  • Master of Applied Finance
  • Business Analytics Master’s Degree
  • Holder of a Master’s degree in Management
  • Master of Professional Accounting

Process of selecting.

  • An assiduous committee thoroughly evaluates all applicants. Subsequently, the University of Auckland Council is presented with their recommendations, and they eventually bestow the scholarships.

Procedure for applying for the New Zealand University of Auckland Business Masters Scholarship:

  • Be vigilant for the “Application Submission Call Letter” available on the University of Auckland website (included in the link below). This correspondence will furnish comprehensive guidelines and time limits for the submission of your application. To secure a place in the September 2024 intake, it is imperative that you submit your application no later than July 4th, 2024. Ensure you do not overlook this opportunity!

Rules or guidelines that are set by an authority to control or govern certain activities or behaviors.

  • The scholarship will be named the University of Auckland Business Masters Scholarship.
    Biannual scholarships will be granted with a maximum value of $16,000 each, to be used specifically for mandatory expenses (see to Notes I to III).
  • To be considered for a Scholarship, an applicant must meet two criteria: i) being a domestic student, and ii) being enrolled, or planning to enroll, full-time in one of the following degrees at the University of Auckland Business School: Master of Applied Finance, Master of Business Analytics, Master of Management, or Master of Professional Accounting.
  • Students who have started their studies in the program are not eligible for consideration. To be eligible for a Scholarship, candidates must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) of 6.00 (5.50 for Māori and Pacific candidates) in their most recent qualifying program. Please see Note IV for more information.
  • The selection process will primarily consider the academic merit of applicants, which will be evaluated based on their grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) from their most recent qualifying program (refer to Note IV). Additionally, the applicant’s potential to excel in business studies at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, their career goals, motivation, and their ability to represent the University of Auckland Business School will be assessed through a personal statement (refer to Notes V and VI).
  • The University of Auckland Council will grant the Scholarship based on the recommendation of a Selection Committee. This committee consists of the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics (or their representative), the Director of the Graduate School of Management (or their representative), and the Director of Masters Programmes of the Graduate School of Management (or their representative).
  • The Scholarship will be disbursed as a payment to cover mandatory costs every quarter (see to Notes I to III).
  • To receive the Scholarship, recipients must be actively enrolled on a full-time basis in either a Master of Management or Master of Professional Accounting program. To retain the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.00, which is equivalent to a B average, in every quarter of their academic program.
