The only university in Luxembourg that provides affordable tuition and easy access is the University of Luxembourg. Applications are currently being accepted for the University of Luxembourg Scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year. University of Luxembourg scholarships:
1. International Master’s Scholarship Guillaume Dupaix (both EU and non-EU):
- funded by the Ministries of Research, Higher Education, and Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg.
- Stipend: Up to two years of €10,000 per academic year.
- includes student housing; the remaining sum is paid over time in installments.

2. Lea Sinner European Union (EU) Scholarship Citizens:
- Level: Bachelor’s / Master’s Award: €30,000 annually, split between six finalists.
Working as a Student in Luxembourg:
- All University of Luxembourg students, regardless of nationality, are permitted to work while enrolled in classes.
- 40 hours a week of work authorization are granted during school breaks.
- Work authorization: 15 hours each week, year-round.

Application Time Frame:
On February 1, 2024, applications will open for admission to the University of Luxembourg’s study programs for the 2024–2025 academic year.

Select three study programs that correspond with your academic pursuits and professional objectives.
Verify Eligibility:
Find out what the requirements are and if you can be admitted to the University of Luxembourg.
Additionally, you must prove that you are proficient in the language or languages that are part of your chosen study program. Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the language proficiency requirements for each program are specified on the web pages specifically for that program (CEFR).
Getting documents ready:
It is advised that you gather all necessary paperwork before beginning the application process. Your background and the study program you have chosen will determine which documents you need. The list of documents that we usually need is below. This list is not exhaustive, and the program of your choice may call for additional documents. The application process will prompt you with a message indicating the documents you need to upload to apply for your desired study program.
All files must be uploaded in the PNG, JPG, or PDF formats. Up to 5 MB in size per document.
For non-EU students: To proceed with your immigration process, you must request your criminal record upon acceptance of admission. To speed up the process with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we highly advise you to request the criminal history of your home country in advance. Even if you haven’t heard back about your application, we advise you to request this document by the first of April at the latest.

- A copy of your identity card or passport
- A copy of your European health insurance card (both sides); non-EU students can obtain this card by paying a fee when they arrive in Luxembourg
- A copy of your secondary school leaving certificate (please check the eligibility criteria to find out more about criteria for your specific situation)
- A copy of the document recognizing equivalence for secondary school leaving certificates that are not from Luxembourg (see the page on Diploma recognition)
- A translation of the diploma if it is in a language other than English, French, or German
- A copy of the detailed transcript of your secondary school leaving certificate
- A copy of results obtained in previous semesters
- A language certificate for all teaching languages used on the program (Learn more about what certificates we accept)
for Master applications
- An identity picture
- A copy of your identity card or passport

- A copy of your university degree certificate (please check the eligibility criteria to find out more about the criteria for your specific situation)
- A translation of the diploma, if it is in a language other than English, French or German
- A detailed transcript of all the grades obtained for your Bachelor’s degree
- If you obtained your degree from a country that is not a Member State of the European Union, a copy of the recognition or accreditation of your most advanced qualification (this document is requested after you have been accepted at the University)
