Eligibility:

Only international students and Italian nationals residing abroad (IRE) are eligible to apply based on their academic background. Enrollment at the chosen Italian university/institute requires possession of a suitable academic qualification. Minimum age criteria:

• Advanced courses in Italian Language and Culture are offered as part of the Master’s Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programs. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no older than 28 years old by the application deadline, with a birthdate after June 14, 1995. Exceptions are applicable solely to the process of renewals.
• PhD Programs: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no older than 30 years old by the application deadline (born after June 14, 1993). Exceptions are applicable solely to the process of renewals.
• Research Projects under Academic Supervision: Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and no more than 40 years old by the application deadline (born after June 14, 1983).

Linguistic Competence:

To be eligible for an Italian-taught program, you must show a high degree of proficiency in Italian, namely at level B2 or above on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have already completed Italian-language courses or university programs offered in Italian. If such situations arise, individuals may submit a language certificate issued by the program leader responsible for the specific program.

English-taught Courses:

To be eligible for enrollment in an English-taught program, you must exhibit a minimum level of English proficiency at B2 or above on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Proficient individuals who are native English speakers from nations where English is an officially recognized language have the option to certify their own language skills. Students who possess a Bachelor’s degree taught in English are required to provide evidence that their whole program was performed in the English language. Italian language proficiency is unnecessary for English-taught courses.

For the Italian Language and Culture Advanced Courses, applicants are required to show their fluency in Italian at level A2 or above on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have already completed Italian language classes or university programs in Italian. If such situations arise, individuals may submit a language certificate issued by the program leader responsible for the specific program.

Language proficiency proof is not necessary for PhD programs and Research projects that are conducted under academic supervision.
