Concerning The Berlin School of Economics

The Berlin School of Economics consolidates Berlin’s career development initiatives for PhD and Postdoc levels into a singular, distinctive framework. It amalgamates two established and very effective career development initiatives: the Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science (BDPEMS) and the Berlin Economics Research Associates (BERA) program. The prominent institutions engaged in economic research in Berlin and outside collaborate with the Berlin School of Economics.

Doctor of Philosophy Program

The Berlin School of Economics PhD Program provides doctoral degrees in economics, accounting, finance, and management. All tracks exhibit high compatibility and facilitate various specializations. Academic Level

The Berlin School of Economics and Law offers a fully funded Research Associate Program for 2025, suitable for research-level studies.

Role and Timeframe:

The initiative solicits applications for multiple Research Associate jobs with fixed-term contracts lasting between 3 to 6 years. The roles are regulated by the German WissZeitVG and provide competitive remuneration according to E 13 TV-L HU/TU/FU/UP or E 14 TVöD.

Criteria for Eligibility

1. Educational Credentials:

Applicants must hold a PhD in economics or a related field by the commencement date of the employment. The selection method prioritizes applicants’ academic distinction and demonstrable exceptional research achievements.

2. Application Criteria:

  • Research Plan: A declaration describing prospective research objectives.
  • Curriculum Vitae: A comprehensive CV highlighting scholarly accomplishments.
  • Academic Credentials: Duplicates of pertinent educational qualifications.
  • Teaching evaluations: Optional however recommended to exhibit teaching proficiency.

3. Letters of Recommendation:

Applicants are required to ensure that a minimum of two academic referees submit letters of recommendation. The referees will post them directly through the Berlin School of Economics application portal upon the school’s request.
