Applicants are required to submit the following application materials, which must be accurate and authentic:

  • Complete the Application Form for the Chinese Government Scholarship using the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn).

The admission application form can be accessed through the online registration system of the target university. Please refer to the attached document for more details.

  • A digitized replica of the private passport’s information page.

Applicants must provide a legible scanned copy of the information page of their valid Private passport, which must have an expiration date no earlier than December 31 of the year of admission. Ensure that the passport is renewed if the necessary criteria are not fulfilled.

  • Notarized photocopies of the diploma and certificate for the highest level of education achieved.

A present university student applying shall provide the certificate of projected graduation or student status given by their university. The diploma or certificate in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by officially certified translations in either Chinese or English.

  • Official records of academic performance, including all completed undergraduate coursework and grades up until the most recent semester. The issuance and sealing of transcripts is the responsibility of the Office of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, or the Department for Student Administration. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by officially certified translations in either Chinese or English.

Language proficiency certificate.

When seeking admission to a program taught in Chinese, an applicant must submit a certified HSK score report that satisfies the language proficiency standards of the program. The minimum criterion is HSK 4 or above, with a score of at least 180. Applicants pursuing programs taught in a language other than Chinese must submit a language competency certificate as specified by the selected university.

  • A study plan must be submitted in either Chinese or English, with a minimum length of 1000 words or characters.
  •  Letters of recommendation.

Applicants must provide two reference letters written in either Chinese or English by professors or associate professors. These letters should specifically address the applicant’s learning objectives and criteria.

A duplicate of the immigrant physical examination form.

The medical examinations must encompass all the elements specified in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Records that are missing the attending physician’s signature, the official hospital stamp, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered invalid. The validity of medical examination results is limited to six months.

  • If the applicant is currently employed, it is necessary to provide a certificate of employment issued by the employer.
  •  The applicant must provide a current certificate of non-criminal record (also known as a police clearance certificate) issued by the local public security, often within six months before applying.
  •  Additional materials requested by the university.

Evaluation and Registration

  • The university where applicants have applied will review those who meet the scholarship standards, and the China Atomic Energy Authority, the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and the China Scholarship Council will assess and decide on their acceptance.
  • Scholarship winners are generally prohibited from altering the declared field of study or the duration of their academic program as specified in the Admission Notice. Transferring to another major, school, or advisor is prohibited.
  •  The university will inform the scholarship beneficiaries of their selection by email before July 31st of the year they are admitted.
  • If a student who has been awarded a scholarship fails to complete the registration process as mandated by the university, they will lose the scholarship.
