Trent University offers guaranteed and renewed national admission scholarships to Canadian students who are starting an undergraduate degree directly from a Canadian high school. Entrance scholarships are awarded automatically based on the admission assessment and vary from $1,000 to $3,000 per academic year. The Trent International Global Citizen Scholarship program acknowledges outstanding scholars worldwide by granting scholarships and awards that vary from $2,000 to $22,000 per year.

Criteria for eligibility Trent University Entrance Scholarship

Secondary Students:

  • Canadian students starting their first year at Trent University from a Canadian secondary school with an admission average of 80% or above.
  • Transfer Students are those who have completed at least two full-time semesters at another approved Canadian post-secondary institution (university or college diploma program) and have achieved an entrance average of 80% or above.
  • Scholarships for students who are educated at home
  • Entrance scholarships will only be granted to candidates with objective, third-party grades.
  • Home-schooled students may be eligible for scholarships if they have finished senior secondary school credits and are utilizing 4U/4M, AP, or IB grades for entrance.
  • Depending on their grade conversion, students who have taken the SAT exam will be considered for scholarships by the admissions office.

International student scholarships

  • The Trent International office grants international scholarships.
  • Applicants must show exceptional academic performance (an “A” average or comparable).
  • Applicants must have shown leadership through community service or success in the arts, sports, or other areas of personal achievement.
  • Applicants must satisfy the English language standards, which include a TOEFL overall score of 89 with a minimum writing score of 20, an IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0, a PTE overall score of 59, and a Duolingo score of 115.
