Terms and conditions

1. Background

  1. The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering created this Scholarship for students who are working on projects related to Techno-Economic Analysis of Hydrogen Electrolysis.

2. Qualification

  1. Candidates must currently be enrolled full-time in their last year of the Bachelor of Engineering Honours program, specifically in the field of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, including combination degree programs, within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney.
  2. Candidates must be currently registered in CHNG5603: Advanced Industrial Modelling and Analysis.
  3. Applicants must have attained a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 in their preceding semester.

3. Criteria for selection

  • The Scholarship will be granted based on:
  1. scholastic excellence,
  2. Prior programming experience, expertise in utilizing Python for developing simulations, including deep learning simulations and data analysis.
  3. A personal statement showcasing their expertise and experience in the field of environmental studies, together with a comprehensive understanding of the environmental market.
  • The Scholarship will be granted by the Head of School of the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, or their designated representatives.

4. Scholarship Value

  1. The Scholarship is worth $10,000 and will be disbursed in two equal payments, one at the midpoint and the other after the project.
  2. The Scholarship cannot be postponed without the agreement of the Associate Dean (Education), Faculty of Engineering, or their designated representative. It also cannot be transferred to another school, faculty, or institution without prior approval.
  3. The Scholarship will be provided based on the availability of money.
  4. No further sum is due.

5. Continual qualification

  1. Recipients are required to maintain full-time enrollment in the Bachelor of Engineering Honours program, specifically in the field of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, including combined degree programs.
  2. Recipients are required to maintain a satisfactory level of performance on the project.

6. Conclusion

  • The Scholarship will be discontinued if the recipient:
  1. If a student withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enroll,
  2. opts out of a mandatory academic course,
  3. Begins studying on a part-time basis,
  4. fails to maintain a reasonable level of academic achievement,
  5. has been found by the University to be culpable of grave misconduct, which includes, but is not restricted to, the act of furnishing deceptive or inaccurate information as a component of their Scholarship application.
  6. agrees to receive an alternative scholarship, overseen by the University of Sydney, with a value of $8,000 or more per year, serving the same objective as this Scholarship, or
  7. Fails to recommence academic pursuits upon the conclusion of an authorized leave of absence.
  • The Scholarship will not be renewed unless there is a University error after it has been terminated.
  • If a student is determined to have committed severe misconduct or if the Scholarship is terminated according to the Termination Clause outlined in these terms and conditions, the University has the authority to ask the Scholarship winner to repay any funds that have been disbursed as part of the Scholarship.
