Maybank Foundation
Maybank Foundation was established in 2010 as the primary means for corporate responsibility within the Maybank Group, coinciding with the group’s 50th anniversary.
The Foundation’s primary objective is to generate favorable and enduring effects in the communities located in the markets where Maybank conducts its operations. Its goal is to find programs that will yield the most concrete and enduring outcomes.
The Foundation’s primary objective is to improve the overall well-being of individuals, regardless of their race, gender, or religious beliefs, with a particular emphasis on those who are economically disadvantaged and socially marginalized. Establishing strategic alliances with regional stakeholders and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) helps achieve this. Across all six domains, specifically education, community empowerment, arts and culture, environmental diversity, healthy living, and disaster relief, we concentrate our efforts and financial resources on generating significant, quantifiable, and enduring effects that distinguish us from our rivals and align with our ultimate goal of making financial services more humane.
The Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for all individuals, particularly those who are less fortunate, regardless of their race, gender, or beliefs. It achieves this by forming strategic alliances with local stakeholders and non-governmental organizations. Additionally, the Foundation strives to be the most influential corporate citizen in the region, delivering long-term benefits for the environment.
The Maybank Foundation’s precursor, Tabung Kebajikan Kumpulan Maybank (TKKM), was established in 1990 as a trust fund to offer medical aid and social welfare assistance to the community. Over time, it expanded to encompass sustainable economic and community development, arts and culture, as well as environmental conservation.
