  • An applicant must not possess dual citizenship of any developed nation.

  • Each eligible application undergoes a rigorous evaluation process where two competent assessors independently review and provide a score to the application on a scale of 1 to 10. The assessment takes into consideration four primary factors and the level of coherence among them.
  • Weighted at 30%, the evaluation of professional experience focuses on the quality of the experience.
  • Assessment of Professional Recommendations (30% weight)
  • Weighted at 30%, the evaluation criterion for the quality of commitment to one’s home country is assessed.
  • Evaluation of Educational Background (10% weighting)
  • The JJ/WBGSP Secretariat uses the mean score of the two assessors and the subsequent criteria to determine the finalists:
  • Ensuring a sufficiently broad regional distribution of prizes
  • Ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of prizes among genders Taking into account exceptional circumstances or hardships while evaluating the employment experience and other parts of an application;
  • Providing scholarships to applicants who, all other factors being equal, have limited financial resources for pursuing graduate courses overseas.
  • The JJ/WBGSP Secretariat submits the list of finalists to the JJ/WBGSP Steering Committee, which consists of members from the World Bank Board of Directors and WB management, for their approval. Notification is sent to the winners shortly after receiving approval from the JJ/WBGSP Steering Committee.
