Concerning the American-Australian Association

Founded by Sir Keith Murdoch in New York City in 1948, the American Australian Association is the premier privately financed nonprofit organization committed to enhancing, fortifying, and cultivating connections across the Pacific. For 75 years, our initiatives have linked our two cultures, directed our populace, and offered new chances for a varied network of pioneers.

The steadfast leadership, influence, and collaboration we provide to our two nations enable us to devise nimble and effective answers to the difficulties we encounter. We possess a substantial and notable history of facilitating the relationship between the United States and Australia, offering a significant platform for collaboration and exchange among political and business leaders, including the US President, Australian Prime Ministers, Federal and State Cabinet Ministers, and chief executives of prominent companies from both nations.

Our scholarships and exchanges promote advancement, innovation, and expression, offering chances for young American and Australian leaders to engage in transformative study, research, and professional or creative development in one another’s country. Thus far, we have granted in excess of US$16 million to more than 1,100 graduates, veterans, artists, and indigenous intellectuals.

Our purpose is to serve the interests of all Americans and Australians. Regardless of your origin, we take pleasure in our commitment to fairness, equity, and inclusivity for our diverse membership.
