Sommalife provides support services for local producers to sustainably increase their business income, and contribute to environmental conservation. They provide access to finance, training, logistics, and global markets for local producers in the shea value chain.

Role: Sales & Marketing Manager

We are looking for an organized sales and marketing manager to assist in the advertising and selling of our company’s products. The Sales and Marketing Manager’s responsibilities include generating unique sales plans, creating engaging promotional literature, and meeting marketing and sales objectives. The Sales and Marketing Manager represents the company’s brand and drives strategies to increase product subscriptions by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends.

To be successful in this role, you should have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. You should also possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of our business and products.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the company’s existing brands and introduces new products to the market.
• Arranges and pitch products to potential B2B customers
• Gathers, investigates, and summarizes market data and trends to draft reports.
• Implements new sales plans and advertising.
• Maintains relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new opportunities.
• Analyzes budgets, preparing annual budget plans, scheduling expenditures, and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals.
• Stays current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.

Qualification and Experience

• BA/BSc/MA/MSc degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in marketing or sales.
• Good understanding of agriculture value chains and related SaaS products in West Africa
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer engagement skills.
