ROLE: Chinese Corporate Relationship Manager
Responsibilities
Take care of the Chinese Corporate clients’ accounts;
- Build new, good business relationships;
- Quality business growth and relationship management for both new and old clients;
- Getting deposits from both old and new relationships;
- Operations Management & Permanent supervision;
- Making money (through fees and interest) and keeping costs down;
- Organization and initiative on your part to help your business grow;
- Cross-sell products and services and create and use synergies with SG Group for Chinese corporate;
- A study of the local market, the Chinese market, or both.
Sales and Getting New Business
- Grow the net credit portfolio in a way that meets the agreed-upon goals;
- Get new business from corporations, supervise the opening of new accounts and the right way to code them in banking tools;
- Actively promote the range of products and services offered by Société Générale to both new and existing customers;
- Increase fee income from corporate clients by negotiating and selling more effectively;
- Go to customers and potential customers and write up and send out call reports;
- Professionalism and quality service to keep a lot of business and clients;
- Regular analysis of the market for developing strategies and putting products and services in the right place;
- Set up local marketing events to promote the bank’s products and services and the relationship with customers.
- Make an annual budget and plan of action to reach goals;
- Make a monthly performance report and analysis on the portfolio and send it in.
Transaction Management
- Prepare financials and business analyses according to standards and procedures, and send credit memoranda to the Risk/Credit Committee for approval;
- Handle post-approval paperwork in a proactive way to avoid delays and allow early use of approved limits. This paperwork will include offer letters, facility agreements, pre-conditions, post-conditions, etc.;
- Find all operational problems with corporate customers and talk to the right units/departments in the bank to get them fixed quickly and efficiently, then tell the customers.
Risk Management
- Ensure good credit quality through timely renewal, re-negotiation/recovery, restructuring of delinquent files, or timely transfer to pre/recovery to avoid more provisioning;
- Keep an eye on the market and account portfolio on a regular basis to make sure that big problems are found and fixed quickly;
- Internalize the bank’s processes and procedures for operational risks, BCP, KYC & AML, and permanent supervision in your team and day-to-day work (exceptions from these functional areas must be kept to a minimum and handled on time when they do happen).

- To keep up with changes in the market by studying and/or keeping an eye on business and the market; important changes should be shared with the team;
- Encourage and support teamwork on your team and in other areas of your job; must be ready to fill in for other team members whenever they need it;
- Care deeply about the personal growth of other team members and use performance management and coaching techniques to help them grow.
Relationship That Works
- Internal: SG China Coverage Team, Trade Department, Corporate Department, Branch Managers, Credit, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Marketing, SME, Structured Finance, etc.;
- Clients from outside China, such as Chinese businesses, Chinese embassies, Chinese chambers of commerce, Chinese business clubs, other banks, etc.
Educational Background:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance, accounting, the economy, international business management, or another relevant field.
Experience on the Job:
- No special requirement.
- Working or interning in the banking industry, especially in the corporate bank sector, is a big plus.
Language Skills
- Chinese Mandarin: very good at Mandarin and knows a lot about Chinese culture
- Very well-versed in English
- French could be helpful.
