Quantity Surveyor at LMI Holdings
The Quantity Surveyor’s job is to look at current budgets and make changes, review plans, make quantity estimates, and negotiate with different contractors and suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and make quantity requirements.
- Check contracts and prices for maintenance and materials to make sure you’re getting the best deals.
- Communicate with clients, site managers, builders, and subcontractors.
- Make papers like reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and more.
- Help managers and clients find ways to improve and come up with new plans.
- Keep track of what you have and buy more if you need to.
- Note any changes to the plan and keep budgets up to date.
- Set up and keep up professional connections with both outside and inside partners.
Competencies
- A person who knows how to build and plan both roads and buildings.
- Experience leading a small to a big group of people.
- Getting a handle on high standards in building.
- Strong ability to think critically and analyze things.
- Know how to build things well.
- Good at talking to people and bargaining.
- The ability to plan, prepare, and think strategically.
- Great at making connections.
Qualifications/Experience
- Quantity surveying or a similar field degree
- 3–5 years of work history.
- Construction estimations or finance knowledge is advantageous.
