Principal at Bagabaga College of Education
The Bagabaga College of Education in Tamale is looking for someone to be the Principal.
1. THE POSITION
- The College Principal is in charge of academics, administration, and discipline. He or she reports to the College’s Governing Council.
- The Principal is in charge of making sure that the Council’s decisions are carried out. The Unified Statutes of Colleges of Education say that the Principal is in charge of all of the staff and students at the College.
- The Principal should be able to handle the challenges that come with the College becoming a university.
This is what the Principal is in charge of:
- Assigning staff in accordance with the Unified Statutes of Colleges of Education;
- The behavior of staff and students and how they are watched,
- Putting together the annual estimates of income and expenses so that the council can look at them:
- Making sure that Council gets all relevant reports on a regular basis including reports of Council committees
THE APPLICANT
The person applying must
- Have good character and a high level of personal integrity, and be a well-known master teacher and scholar in teaching and learning.
- Be at least a Principal Tutor in the College of Education or a similar grade. (minimum of senior lecturer from a recognized university) in a similar institution/organisation
- Have a postgraduate degree in research, preferably the highest level;
- Be a teacher for a living or have at least a Diploma in Education or a subject related to education

- The names and addresses of three (3) references. d. A vision statement for the College of no more than 500 words (6 copies)
