POSITION: Driver (AfCFTA)
Job’s purpose
To provide general driving services for the AfCFTA.
Main Functions
- Ensure timely operational support.
- Carry out operational actions as scheduled and report.
- Assist in following up on logistical arrangements, activity implementation, and providing updates.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Follow up on meeting choices and correspondence outcomes to ensure they are implemented.
- Prepare routine office communications and help compile data and information for reporting.
- Contribute to the development, improvement, and maintenance of record and retrieval systems.
- Monitor the provision and maintenance of office facilities and materials.
Specific Responsibilities
- Process applications for a summary of primary jobs and responsibilities.
- Transport authorized persons in office vehicles; • Pick up and drop off authorities at the airport.
- Ensure compliance with minimal Operating Security Standards (MOSS) by collecting and delivering official mail, documents, and other materials.
- Ensure daily maintenance of assigned vehicles, including oil, water, battery, and brakes.
- Maintain a vehicle logbook to record official trips, mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, and greasing.
- Ensure compliance with AfCFTA Secretariat vehicle management laws and regulations;
- Maintain valid vehicle paperwork;
- Perform additional activities as needed.
Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience
- Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and three years of experience as a driver in a registered international, national, or public service agency.
- Knowledge of computer office applications (e.g., MS Word and Excel) and defensive, VIP, and mechanical training is preferred.
