POSITION: Sustainability Communications Associate

Job Description
- Case studies: help find, write and edit case studies that show different ways to deal with a wide range of sustainability issues. This will require talking to a lot of operational colleagues to turn complex, multi-faceted programs into clear and concise key messages, bullet-pointed summaries, and practical lessons learned.
- Research and project briefs: Write briefs of the latest research and projects that condense academic reports and a lot of project documents into compelling summary documents.
- Knowledge management platform: find and organize content for “Think-In,” the internal knowledge management platform, such as internal and external training resources, case studies, research reports, briefs, research catalogues, project catalogues, etc. Check with experts in the field on a regular basis to make sure the information is correct and up-to-date. Respond quickly to questions from platform users and work with IT to fix any bugs as soon as possible. Keep a collection of training materials in a library.
- CR&S Workplace page: moderate the CR&S page on Workplace by Facebook, get users involved in meaningful knowledge exchange, and post relevant content from the knowledge platform to the Workplace page, especially on international thematic days, to encourage learning and action across the company.
- Internal learning and engagement: help plan (content, logistics, coordination, etc.) virtual and/or in-person events like meetings, workshops, learning exchanges, etc.
- Work with Internal and Corporate Communications: Work with Internal and Corporate Communications to help people become more aware, learn, and share ideas for sustainability.
- As needed, help with writing and the content of funding proposals, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Gather, organize, and share interesting and relevant photos of the Olam Group’s work on sustainability.
Key Deliverables
The Olam Group’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) Function is looking for a Communications Associate to help with strategic communications, knowledge management, and internal learning projects that will help the company reach its sustainability goals.
The Associate works in the CR&S Function, which focuses on promoting sustainable livelihoods, community development that includes everyone, and environmental sustainability in the agricultural and food value chains of the Olam Group.
The Sustainability Communications Associate will be in charge of putting together, packaging, and spreading important information, such as case studies, research briefs, grant opportunities, simple video interviews, small scripts/storyboards, etc. Think-In, which is a knowledge management platform for sustainability, will be one of the main ways that information will be shared.
The Sustainability Communications Associate will work directly with all members of the CR&S Function and will need to maintain relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders from different business units and other functions (like Corporate Communications) to gather and provide relevant information and resources.
The Sustainability Communications Associate will also help set up online and in-person events for sharing knowledge and give general help with writing, content development, and getting people inside the company involved.

Requirements
- University degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or another relevant field, such as organizational learning, agronomy, international affairs, business administration, etc.
- 1-3 years of similar work experience
- English like a native speaker. A level of intermediate to advanced French, Spanish, Portuguese, or another language is a plus.
- Excellent skills in writing and talking to people
- Excellent organizational skills
- Skilled with InDesign and the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
- Simple image editing is needed, and graphic design skills would be a plus.
- Familiarity with IT, especially digital and video forms of communication. Preferred experience in sustainability and/or food/agribusiness to understand the challenges and opportunities for changing the food system.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines are important.
- Good at analyzing and paying attention to details. A positive team player.
