The Ahafo Mine is in the Brong-Ahafo region, and the Akyem Mine is in the Eastern region. Both are owned by Newmont’s Africa Operations. Newmont Africa also has projects in Ethiopia and Morocco that are just getting started.

Newmont Mining Corporation is currently seeking to recruit qualified and experienced persons for the following positions:

POSITIONS:

1. Systems and Services Officer

Your Role

To give technical advice on in-house Management Information Systems (MIS) for the Sustainability and External Relations (S&ER) function, make sure all eligible users have constant access to databases, make sure data quality is controlled, and make sure the databases can do what they need to do.

Your Checklist of Training, Skills, and Experience:

• Formal Qualifications (including Professional Registrations): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Technology, or a similar field.
• Extra Qualifications: Information Technology Certificate.
• Experience: At least three years of relevant experience in an Information and Computer Technology (ICT) and database development or management setting.

2. Condition Monitoring Technician

This Job’s Role:

To provide a reliable support service by performing high-quality condition monitoring of underground plant equipment using online and offline data acquisition techniques, data analysis, testing, and diagnoses, so that equipment doesn’t break down too soon and is always in the best shape possible.

Your Checklist of Training, Skills, and Experience:

• Formal Qualifications (including Professional Registrations): Diploma or the professional equivalent in engineering, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Training in vibration analysis and other methods for Condition Monitoring.
• Experience: At least 4 to 6 years of experience in the mining business with Condition Monitoring.
• Experience working with PC-based On-Line and Off-Line Condition Monitoring Systems (hardware and software).
