POSITION: Packaging Team Lead
GGB PLC operates from two locations in four beverage categories: Stout, Lager, RTD, and Malt, as well as Spirits distribution. The company is the largest brewing company in Ghana. In a competitive climate, Ghana’s economy is predicted to grow at a mid-to-high single-digit rate. Customers and consumers in this region anticipate high-quality items. GGB PLC is undergoing major change, namely in the areas of responsibility, quality maintenance standards, supply planning, cost reduction, and efficiency. GGB PLC will develop its personnel and create an atmosphere that attracts and maintains the best people in accordance with its objectives.
We will create quality items in a safe environment at competitive prices, on schedule, and in full, with no faults, as the Supply function. Purpose of RoleTo meet standards, the role holder must establish, support, and implement particular plans. During production hours, the Packaging Team Lead is in command of his shift, with complete accountability for his team and the department’s assets.
The Packaging Team Lead is responsible for fulfilling the shift production OEE target at the appropriate quality and cost. The incumbent is also in charge of establishing EISC/MMS procedures in a safe and healthy working environment. As the first-line manager, the Packaging workforce Lead must be familiar with human resource rules, notably disciplinary and grievance procedures, in order to establish and retain a highly motivated workforce.

- Shall be committed to creating safe and high-quality products by adhering to all Food Safety and Quality Management System guidelines.
- Observe occupational health and safety regulations.
- Declare and communicate frequently that safety is our top priority.
- Be a visible ambassador for safety by always behaving safely and always questioning unsafe practices and behavior of others, reprimanding where warranted.
- Follow all site safety guidelines, as well as system and equipment operational procedures.
- Manage shift, which includes direct responsibility for team development, mentoring, and support in order to meet corporate objectives.
- Monitoring production on an hourly basis, paying close attention to downtimes, OEE, quality, and waste, as well as creating and maintaining useful connections with the team.
- To achieve 0% LTA, ensure that all safety rules are followed.
- Actively enforce EISC/MMS WOWs while simultaneously maintaining proper housekeeping.
- Support his team members’ capabilities and growth toward multi-skilling.
- Improve product quality by paying close attention to detail and delivering Right First Time (RFT) on quality and process control parameters.
- Respond to nonconformances as soon as possible to keep the process on track. Apply, record, and share learnings to avoid recurrence.
- During shift operations, manage materials and components required by the plant/equipment.
Qualifications and experience are required.
- Degree in Science/Engineering or HND with at least 3 years of experience in the packaging business.
- Knowledge of computers
- Ability to manage resources

- Networking/influence/communication abilities
- Coaching abilities
- Understanding of Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS)
- Experience leading improvement projects (ITFs/PIPs).
