Role Title: General Manager
Job Description
- Give strategic direction and leadership for running the airport terminal and handling services on the ground.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the terminal and ground handling, making sure that regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies are being followed.
- Develop and implement operational plans, procedures, and policies to maximize efficiency, improve the customer experience, and meet key performance indicators.
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of how passengers are handled, how their bags are handled, how the aircraft is serviced on the ground, how ramp operations work, and any other related tasks.
- Make sure that airport security rules are followed, such as screening procedures, access control, and local and international laws.
- Work together with airlines, airport authorities, and other key players to build strong partnerships and working relationships.
- Make and manage budgets, keep costs in check, and look for ways to bring in more money and cut costs.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals by giving them direction, feedback on their work, and chances to grow as professionals.
- Supervise the upkeep and maintenance of airport buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, working with other departments and vendors as needed.
The Successful Applicant
- The ideal candidate should have at least 15 to 20 years of experience in airport terminal operations and ground handling services, as well as a track record of being a leader.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams, drive performance, and promote a culture of excellence.
- Shown that they can handle a lot of different tasks at once, meet deadlines, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of how airports work, aviation rules, security protocols, and best practices in the industry.
