Role Summary

Global Client Solutions (GCS) is at the heart of “what we do” at TBI and distributes the best of the Institute and our networks to global leaders through country advisory teams. From GCS’s functional and sectoral experience, our embedded advisors with governments receive guidance, technical support, thought collaboration, strategy, and surge capacity.

GCS’ Delivery Anchor Team (DAT) specializes in political leaders’ procedures, tools, and tactics for faster and more effective government goal implementation. TBI has focused on delivery since Mr. Blair formed the first government Delivery Unit in Downing Street. Our objective is to make government work by “getting things done” and “making change happen” in complex delivery ecosystems utilizing frontline learning and innovation to give best-in-class delivery solutions to our clients.

TBI and our delivery work are growing fast across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, so we are hiring global Senior Delivery Advisors with government expertise to help political leaders and partners make progress through creative delivery channels.

Our focus will be on professional support for our in-country TBI advisers, partner governments, and other key players worldwide to improve their delivery processes and deliver outcomes to their communities.

This senior expert position demands exceptional candidates with relevant expertise, wide networks, and delivery experience with governments, development, and technical partners. Global experience or competence in multiple situations is crucial.

The Main Duties

  • Help regional & country directors and embedded delivery teams
  • Develop a reputation as an Institute-wide Government Delivery specialist.
  • Facilitate scoping and diagnosis to understand senior leaders’ visions, opportunities, obstacles, and delivery drivers.
  • Technical skills to support commercial development and high-level conversations with top government colleagues on TBI’s scope and approach
  • Give Regional Directors, Country Directors, and Advisors expertise, thought partnership, quality insurance, and advice on their delivery projects throughout and at critical milestones to ensure end-to-end impact and use of TBI Delivery best practices and tools, methods, and approaches.
  • Help project teams evaluate and train government colleagues to implement delivery methods.

Innovation in delivery and thought leadership

  • Support the Director of Delivery in strategy creation and implementation by monitoring market demands, competition, and Delivery ecosystem gaps.
  • Help TBI improve its delivery offer and techniques by spotting gamechangers, using feedback, and thinking creatively to build, mainstream, and adapt novel delivery solutions to varied situations.
  • Maintain feedback loops between our delivery offer and strategy, policy, strategic communications, and private office responsibilities.
  • Contribute to promoting the practice and TBI as thought leaders by speaking on panels, producing blogs and articles, and networking strategically.
  • Build and expand the Institute’s network of great external advisers to give tactical surge support on crucial program milestones and asset evolution advice.

Creating strategic alliances

  • Support TBI’s fundraising, business growth, thought leadership, policy influence, and program delivery by developing and fostering strategic partnerships with existing or new partners in conjunction with the Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives team.
  • Ensuring partnerships reflect TBI’s Delivery approach, ground effect, and strategic aims
  • Create an annual plan to support Delivery Anchor Team strategic alliances.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to improve TBI’s delivery partnership strategy, including knowledge management.

Qualifications Required

This post is about a fast-paced global team working on difficult policy issues. We seek applicants with a track record of leadership and delivery in the public or commercial sectors in various countries who can demonstrate:

  • Experience leading or assisting Delivery Units in various countries with proven success in delivering tangible results for citizens.
  • Global leadership expertise in government, delivery, and management consultancy, including in Africa and developed countries
  • Project management and development experience
  • Ability to engage and connect at the government’s highest levels of political decision-making and foster trusting relationships
  • Strong political skills and ability to quickly understand senior leaders’ needs
  • Strong analytical capabilities for various situations
    Highly developed negotiation abilities to work with multiple conflicting views and priorities
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication abilities
  • Work autonomously, think conceptually, and convert strategies into tangible plans; attention to detail, organization, and communication abilities
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong team player with great soft skills and flexibility to help when needed.
  • Motivates and influences TBI country-specific responsibilities, funders, government colleagues, and partners.
  • Strong ethics, discretion, and perseverance are necessary for lengthy travel, even to TBI’s countries of operation, at short notice.
  • Experience living and working in impoverished nations is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in French and Spanish is ideal.
