ROLE: Environmental Health and Safety Trainee

Overview

To join our team, we are looking for a dedicated and motivated environmental health and safety (EHS) trainee. This entry-level role is intended for people who are enthusiastic about providing a safe and environmentally responsible workplace in the plastic manufacturing industry. The EHS Trainee will receive extensive training and mentoring in environmental health and safety practices.

Position Description

  • Take part in training programs to learn about environmental legislation, safety protocols, and corporate policies.
  • Work with experienced EHS experts to understand best practices in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management.
  • Participate in training programs to learn about environmental regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Learn best practices in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management by shadowing seasoned EHS experts.
  • Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and data analysis related to environmental health and safety initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures for various scenarios, such as fire, chemical spills, and medical emergencies
  • Participate in drills and simulations to improve emergency response preparedness

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a similar field is required.
  • A basic awareness of environmental rules, safety standards, and compliance requirements is required.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn to use safety equipment and tools used in environmental health and safety inspections
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new concepts and practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
