Role: Intern – Data Science
As a Data Scientist team intern, you will:
- Be responsible for making and putting Data Science products into place
- Support the proactive identification of the most important analytical use cases in collaboration with the key stakeholders
- Support prioritization efforts, understand feasibility and business impact, and take smart risks to make informed decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment and get patient benefits to them faster.
- Work with global agile teams in the Roche Informatics business and foundational domains to create products that offer the most value to both Roche Pharma and Roche
- Diagnostics business stakeholders.
- Give methodological advice and help with implementation, as well as hands-on help, for analytical use cases
- Tell the people who matter most about the results and the value of the use cases.
- Help the business position data science as a key skill
- Always look for ways to expand your knowledge, skills, and abilities so that talent can flow into different specialties.
- Be an example of how to share knowledge in the DnA chapter.
Qualifications
- Computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, and other fields of study at the master’s or doctoral level.
- Find ways to get data and make processes for modeling, mining, and making data sets that can be scaled up.
- Good knowledge of SQL queries and the ability to easily pull data from structured datasets.
- Good knowledge of Google Sheet, Excel, and BI tools like Tableau, Qlickview, and others.
- Programming skills (like Python, C++, etc.) and an understanding of or knowledge of statistical and machine learning models are also nice to have.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems well. Proven track record of working with a wide range of customers and projects.
- Ability to work on your own and set priorities in an environment with scientists, engineers, business people, and consultants.
- Summarizing the results of analyses into finalized minimal viable products or dashboards and sharing analytical insights through effective synthesis tools (Google slide, PPT, etc.)
