Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring of hull stresses and vessel stability, as well as control of cargo/ballast distribution, to keep them within predefined limits and statutory requirements, while optimizing vessel loading circumstances in accordance with environmental conditions and vessel operations.
- Cargo reception, storage, and offloading, as well as ballast system operation, are all under supervision.
- Sampling tanks, removing surplus free water, and other quality control measures are used to inspect cargo for export.
- Produced water discharge operations comply with legislative and company environmental standards.
- Tank cleaning and gas release activities.
- As authorized by the Marine Superintendent, he will be in charge of the General Purpose crew during his shift.
- Tank entrance and maintenance procedures take place within tanks.
- As Area Authority, I monitor vessels operating in 500m zones around producing wells and FPSOs, including diving activities.
- Directing the General Purpose Crew and organizing the maintenance schedule for regions under his jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of the Maximo system and the ability to enter/extract data as needed.
- Maintaining and administering the Marine Department Maximo inputs on a regular basis.
- Compliance with and adherence to the Corporate Management System.
- Operational Safety Case.
- The creation and evaluation of operational procedures and manuals.
- Company Policies and Procedures.
- Environmental Management System
- Acting as a backup FRC coxswain.
- Performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner, while ensuring that all personnel under his supervision do the same.
- PTW System Area Authority for Marine Designated Areas
- Internal cargo/ballast transfers to manage hull tension and stability
- Offloading supervision
- Tank cleaning and gas release operations
- Monitoring of vessels within the 500-metre safety zone
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Combined offshore survival, firefighting, and HUET certificate or equivalent
UKOOA Medical or equivalent is required, with a Class 2 Marine Certificate being preferred.
