Job Purpose & Scope:
- Supervises and participates in the maintenance and operation of sea-going vessels.
- Inspects maintenance and repair work to insure procedures and materials comply with specifications.
- Recommends modifications and changes.
- Maintains preventive maintenance programs for marine equipment and vessels.
- Consults with research personnel in the design of marine equipment.
- Requisitions supplies and materials for maintenance and repair work.
- Maintains appropriate records and prepares various operating reports.
- Operates sea-going vessels.
- Performs related work as required.
