POSITION: Marketing Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the Business Development and Marketing Department by putting in place approved policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), a work plan, and other support systems.
• Implements approved marketing and sales initiatives/plan to market and sell the Company’s products and services to meet the requirements/expectations of Clients as well as develop new business relationships.
• Assists in the preparation of adverts designs and media concepts for clients.
• Makes sure that ads are paid for quickly and contracts are sent out quickly.
• Finds services for advertising for the Agency.
• Collaborates with the Finance Department in collecting debts from advertising and subscription clients.
• Communicates with the Finance Department to keep an eye on rent money.
• Keeps and updates record on the advertising and subscription business.
• Provides input in formulating new products and services from inception to respective launches to meet growing and changing customer needs.
• Plans and keeps track of sales activities to improve and maximize revenue growth, grow the business, and make sales more productive.
• Keep an eye on marketing and sales, find areas of concern, and suggest ways to fix the problems and make the business as profitable as possible.
• Keeps and updates information about sales activities and clients so that it is easy to find and use.
• Maintains a network of contacts that will support the operations of the Business Development & Marketing Team.
• Makes reports on all sales and marketing activities once a month and at other times.
• Takes care of any other tasks given by the officer in charge.

Needed Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, project management, or a similar field.
• Have worked in a related role for at least five (5) years.
• A deep understanding of how sales and marketing work and a lot of experience with it.
• A good understanding of the channels of distribution that are available and how they can be used.
• Proven planning and organizing skills.
• A strong focus on marketing, sales, and customer service.
• A good understanding of benchmarks and standards for sales delivery.
• Skill at negotiating, making connections, and getting what you want.
• Good knowledge and understanding of how the market is divided, what value propositions are, and who the customers are.
• A good understanding of how to manage projects and run a business.
• Be able to work under pressure in a goal-oriented setting.
• Be able to keep up professional relationships that are important for building business partnerships.
• Know how to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other tools for business development.
