ROLE: Field Office IT Specialist for WASH-FIN 2 Project

Position Description

Tetra Tech International Development (International Development Jobs—Tetra Tech) is presently taking expressions of interest for a Field Office IT Specialist for the USAID-funded WASH-FIN 2 project in Ghana. This post will be based in Accra at the WASH-FIN 2 Ghana field office.

Job Description/Summary

The Field Office IT Specialist provides onsite and remote IT assistance for WASH-FIN 2 project workers who collaborate with the Tetra Tech Home Office (HO) but operate remotely. The Field Office IT Specialist is in charge of providing in-person and remote end-user support, diagnosing daily computer issues, assisting users with IT issues, and monitoring on-site IT systems.

To provide the high level of service that our users expect, the role involves innovation, excellent intercultural and communication skills, and great problem-solving abilities. From an administrative aspect, the Field Office IT Specialist will report directly to the Ghana Administrative and Finance Manager, while any IT technical concerns will be reported to the HO IT Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure all project-funded computers to Home Office IT standards.
  • Use the Tt corporate standard procedures to configure any project-issued handsets.
  • Troubleshoot computer and network issues as they arise and escalate to the HO IT team as necessary.
  • Assist the Home Office IT teams in configuring all project-funded, internet-enabled networking devices in accordance with Home Office IT standards.
  • Gather information about IT installations (the HO IT team will provide a template).
  • Assist the Administrative and Financial Manager in ensuring that IT project assets adhere to OCIO standards and procedures.
  • Assist the HO IT Manager in ensuring that IT project systems adhere to Tetra Tech/GDS standards and rules.

Required Qualifications or Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related subject is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant technical or help desk experience is required.
  • Willing to work flexible hours because the position may involve after-hours work on occasion.
  • Management and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office 365 is required.
  • Understanding of TeamViewer or similar remote desktop support tools.
  • Basic computer hardware knowledge is required. Knowledge of desktop and server operating systems.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with the capacity to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure workplace.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, often stressful work environment while addressing issues within the service level agreement (SLA).
  • Advanced SharePoint and Office 365 feature knowledge is appreciated but not essential.
  • Any relevant IT qualifications will be advantageous.
