ROLE: Area Total Rewards Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Area Total Rewards Specialist oversees Total Rewards’ regional operations. This role frequently collaborates with the workforce, area leaders, and the area HR team, and it is overseen and trained by headquarters COEs in areas such as workforce planning, counselling support for management and supervisors in employee relations, training, and policy interpretation.
A significant component of this function is the capacity to establish trust, credibility, and collaborative relationships with business executives and external vendors in order to contribute value to Total Rewards’ work. The Area Total Rewards Specialist works closely with the Area Human Resource Manager and other Total Rewards Specialists to provide excellent advice and counsel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for implementing HR-related procedures, practices, policies, and outcomes within the given business unit(s) as directed.
- Compensation and Benefits In collaboration with HQ, we conduct salary surveys and analyse them. We also develop salary structures and make merit proposals for specific areas.
- Coaching on compensation, reviewing allowances, and proposing modifications.
- Conduct new job evaluations for Africa West-specific positions.
- Local benefits and compensation analyses, proposals, approvals, and performance-based merit increases.
- Ensure that benefits providers’ service level agreements are met.
- Mobility and relocation benefits are approved, administered, and coordinated.
- Healthcare Consumerism and Health Service Initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience: Degree in Human Resources Management or comparable profession.
- A master’s degree and certification in human resources, compensation, or benefits are preferred.
- Applicants with a degree or a master’s degree in accounting and finance, data science, or actuarial science with an interest in human resources are encouraged to apply.
- 3–6 years of Human Resources and related experience with good analytics abilities.
Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive working understanding of HR procedures, particularly Total Rewards.
- Understanding of best practices for HR functions.
- Capability to evaluate and comprehend data, particularly HR statistics and metrics (
- Analytical Aptitude Competency).
- Core competencies include:

- Coach and develop people managers.
- Communicate successfully in writing and verbally by using influence and compromise.
- Proven ability to organize and coordinate many projects/work activities at the same time.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and business tools.
- Ability to take the initiative, foresee business unit needs, and make recommendations. (Business Acumen Competency)

- Proficiency in French will be advantageous.
